Parish Life...
There are many ways to get involved! Here are just a few examples:
Prayer Shawl Ministry - Prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted by a volunteer and then given as a gift to those in nursing homes, those who are home-bound and most importantly - anyone who is in need. Crafters of prayer shawls begin each knitting or crocheting session with a prayer for both themselves and the recipient. When the prayer shawl is finished, a dedication prayer is recited in preparation for the shawl's delivery. You can be involved in a variety of ways: if you knit or crochet, you can make a shawl by following an easy set of instructions; you can donate skeins of yarn or monetarily toward the purchase of materials. To help, please contact Jean O'Connell (939-1251). Be a part of spreading this new ministry to give "God-hugs" to others. YOUTH GROUP - The junior high youth group (7th & 8th graders) and the senior high youth group (freshmen to seniors) are comprised of teenagers from St. Patrick and St. Teresa churches. The youth groups are led by two wonderful, energetic people: Ken and Michelle Barrie. The Barrie's have been youth leaders for 22 years. Activities range from mission work (performed locally and outside the country), faith discussions, the annual haunted house, attending the Youth Leadership conference, participating in the liturgy, and much more! (top) HOMEBOUND MINISTRY - Visit parishioners at home who are unable to make it to church and bring the Eucharist. (top) CATHOLICS FOR LIFE - The church's Right to Life group sets up pro-life displays, provides roses to mothers at each baptism in the church and is an advocate for the unborn child. (top) SOFTBALL - St. Teresa is home to two softball teams, both of which have won league championships. Come out and join the fun! (top) PARISH NURSING - Provides healthcare for parishioners by offering health fairs, flu shots & blood pressure screenings. (top) LITTLE CHILDREN & JESUS - During the 10:00 a.m. Mass, children can be brought to the Lisieux Center where they are cared for by Kathy & John Wade, longtime members of St. Teresa. Children are taught gospel lessons, play games and learn about Jesus. (top) NURSING HOME MINISTRY - Visit parishioners in the local nursing homes, spend time with them and keep them connected to the church. (top)
